Edda: The Lost City
A downloadable soundtrack
For this soundtrack I imagined a long forgotten and destroyed city belonging to an advanced civilization, mainly taking inspiration from Xenoblade Chronicles. Each track corresponds to a certain aspect of exploring the city.
Short Lore
An expedition group was sent to the site of Edda, the lost city, which was said to be destroyed long ago due to fears of an unknown but strong power within. This city is sprawing with underground ruins containing advanced machinery and weapons, whose technology and knowledge has long since been lost to time. The group aims to find what strange power lies at the deepest part of the city.

Tracks
1. Edda
The main theme of the lost city, with bells and piano particles from Noire acting as background ambience amongst the choir/string harmony.
2. Expedition
The theme of the camp outside Edda, the main hub. I tried to capture the deserted/lonely nature of the lost city, with a constant bongo rhythm. Noise and bell pads were used as extra effects. The overall music is meant to sound contemplative.
3. Lost Files
The deeper parts of the lost city. I used Arturia Minifreak along with some sound design to create the analog radio sound that plays in the background. The feeling of constant danger was captured with sparse, but repeating bells. The Morse Code sounds can barely be heard, but signifies hidden messages of long lost individuals calling for help.
4.Revelation
The deepest part of the lost city, where the group finds a giant cannon. This is where the truth of the city's destruction is revealed, with choirs signifying a strong and terrifying power coming from that cannon. I took some inspiration from the 'Deus Irae' theme as well in the choir, combining it with a slightly techno drum rhythm in the background. Quartal and parallel 5th harmony was used to evoke that early medieval sound, to give that extra sense of awe and power to the discovery.
